Bid4Charities is extremely easy to use. Your supporters;

  • Receive the link to the live auction. 
  • Once they have decided which items they wish to bid on, they simply click on the items and then select the bid amount. 
  • The bid increments are automatically set at 10% or £10 but they can choose a higher amount should they wish. 
  • They can also set a maximum amount they would like to bid up to, and as other bids come in, theirs will automatically update. 
  • We will notify you and your supporters accordingly.

Prove Anything’s Certificates of Authenticity use blockchain technologies to create a digital twin that functions as proof of ownership for products and memorabilia. These convey information about the origins and history of a product, providing customers with comfort and protection.

Bid4Charities is proud to be a member of https://www.aftal.org.uk – The Autograph Fair Trade Association, whose Code of Conduct commits each AFTAL approved dealer to provide authentic items, with all the required knowledge, qualification and diligence, giving collectors and buyers comfort when buy authentic signed memorabilia.

What is AFTAL?

The "Autograph Fair Trade Association" (AFTAL) was formed by a group of acknowledged autograph dealers, with the intention of stamping out fakes items and ensuring customers can find reputable dealers they can trust.

Inclusion in AFTAL is proof of each dealer's commitment and professional competence. The Code of Conduct commits each AFTAL approved dealer to providing authentic items, with all the required provenance, qualification, and diligence. AFTAL provides the best possible proof any collector could have when looking to buy authentic signed memorabilia. Simply put, there is no reason as to why any honest dealer should not become an AFTAL approved dealer, but many reasons why some could never become an AFTAL approved dealer.

 

What does AFTAL  do?

The signed memorabilia market is a multi-million industry. As a result, the less scrupulous sellers will create items that are most in demand. This non-authentic material is then offered for sale on websites, Internet auctions, and through retail outlets around the UK. Although easily spotted by an expert, hundreds of fake items are sold to unsuspecting collectors every day.

 

AFTAL works hard to ensure the Police and Trading Standards are aware of forgers behind fakes so they can act.

Any memorabilia dealer can apply to join AFTAL, but not all applications are successful. Some ‘dealers’ know they would not meet the requirements of our rigorous verification process and authentication course, and so choose not to be involved in AFTAL. If your dealer is not a member, ask them why!

 

If you are considering spending money with a seller of autographs, would it not be safer to do business with a qualified and competent AFTAL dealer, who abides by a code, than one that claims to be an expert, trustworthy and established dealer, but who is not prepared to back up that claim.
